My name is Tim Penny. I want to talk with you about your future, and the future of your children and grandchildren. I spent 12 years in Congress studying the challenges facing our Social Security system. I’d like to share with you what I learned.
The first thing you need to understand is that Social Security has to be fixed.
The question is, how do we fix it-how do we take back control of our retirement income and away from the politicians in Washington?
The stakes are high. If we fail to fix Social Security, the system will go broke and adequate benefits will not be there for the next generation. When you discover what I have learned, I hope you will join me in the campaign to remake Social Security into a program that’s better, fairer and more secure than the one we have now.
Three Things to Remember
There are three main points to understand:
First, Social Security faces significant demographic problems that will leave it short of cash.
Second, Congress is spending Social Security money on other programs, which only makes the demographic problem worse.
And third, any solution must build on the values of the past as we modernize the system for the future.
