Hmmm. Governor Bill Richardson's (D-NM) campaign website doesn't actually say anything about the future of Social Security and Medicare. Searching the web, he says he supports "universal pensions" and opposes privatizing Social Security .

"Bill Richardson: Opposes privatization. Would dedicate a fixed percentage of the federal budget to Social Security and would restrict spending of the program's trust-fund money. Favors 'universal pensions, which his campaign described as resembling 401(k)s, 'except that funds would be transferred directly to new accounts when a worker changes jobs.
